YOUNG AT HEART:

Please join us for  the Young at Heart luncheon on Tuesday, December 11, 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall on the Niceville campus. Our program will be Opus One sharing some of their Christmas music.  Lunch cost $6. Please sign up by noon, Friday, December 7.  If you would like to just come for the program (no lunch), the program begins at 12:20 p.m. but please let us know you are coming.  This is a high attendance event and I want to be sure I have seating for you.  Contact: Barbara Wilder, bwilder@yourcrosspoint.org, 678-4411.

January Young at Heart‘s program with be our own Larry Van Pelt on the topic Science and the Bible.  Hope you will plan to join us on Tuesday, January 8!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY AT CHILDREN IN CRISIS
Children in Crisis is a foster care facility that keeps sibling groups together.  We field teams to each week keep their food pantry in order.  If you have a couple hours once a month, we would welcome your help on one of our weekly teams.  Please contact Barbara for more information.  Get a blessing by being a blessing to these children and the adults that provide a lovely home and family environment for them!

***NEW “SCIENCE AND THE BIBLE”  CLASS STARTING IN JANUARY
Beginning Wednesday, January 16, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., Larry Van Pelt will offer his newly updated class. Whether you have taken the class before or not, you are invited to join us in ROom 400, and bring a friend!  Learn how the natural world points to an Intelligent Designer.  We request that you register for the class so we can be prepared for you, but last minute additions are also welcome to just show up!

 

TRIPS AND OUTINGS

CHRISTMAS THEMED TRIP
Friday, December 7, 10:15 a.m. – 9:00 p.m..  We will start with lunch at a group favorite, The Gator Cafe.  After a tour of Blue Lake Camp with the Camp Director Steve Lewandowski as our guide,  we will head to Andalusia. We will tour their murals and town square, then have dinner at Mike’s Steakhouse.  We will end the day with a tour of the Christmas lights on the town square.  Cost: $8 does not include meals.  Sign up no later than Friday, November 16.  This trip is full.  You may call, trip leader Karen Schutt if you would like to be on a wait list, 598-3026

GLENN MILLER BAND CONCERT 
Tuesday, January 15   The Glenn Miller Band will present a concert of big band music at the Naval Museum in Pensacola.  We will have dinner at Cheddar’s in route. Cost: $35 does not include dinner.  We will depart at 3:15 p.m. and return about 11:00 p.m. Sign up no later than Monday, January 7.

3-DAY TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS
Tuesday, January 23 – Friday, January 25   A great trip to include a city tour, a day at the WWII museum with dinner and a musical show. Cost: $345-$375. Price depands on the activity you choose for day three.  Contact Barbara for more details. Sign up no later than Monday, December 17.

11-DAY CRUISE TO NEW ENGLAND AND CANADA
Sunday, February 11  Great itinerary!  Newport, RI; Boston, MA; Bar Harbor, ME; Saint John, New Brunswick; Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Quebec City, Quebec.  It’s not until October 14-24, 2019, but the time to reserve your cabin is now for best cabin selections and main dining seating! Through November 19, you can reserve your cabin for only $100 per person and receive a Three for Free bonus (free gratuities, $100 onboard credit and a free cabin upgrade if available).  After November 19, the deposit will be $630 per person. GAME DAY

Play games from bridge to dominoes to Mahjong and more. Contact Barbara prior to attending to reserve your seat at the table. Games are scheduled in advance.

STEP ON IT!
Everyone is welcome to join in this free walking program as we walk to various locations and then celebrate with a themed party upon our ‘arrival’.  Walk in your neighborhood or other favorite place. Come join the fun!

FAITHFULLY FIT
Room 909/911 | Monday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
Meet for exercise and fellowship. Work on flexibility, proper breathing techniques, balance, coordination, brain exercises, and use of light weights. NO FEE! Contact Elaine Hall, 678-2918.

FIT TODAY
Community Life Center Gym | Monday, Wednesday, Friday
The 7:00 a.m. class is taught by Pat Jernigan and Sue Riedel.
The 8:00 a.m. class is taught by Pat Peterson.
Most exercises will be for strength and balance while sitting in a chair.
Cost is $25 for a 8-week session. Sign up with the Recreation Ministry.

ALZHEIMER’S CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

MISSIONS
If you are interested in serving with us, we have three ongoing opportunities: The food pantry at Children in Crisis, an annual camp for blind and low vision adults, and the birthday card team. Please call Barbara for more information.

LIFE GROUPS
Additional small groups are also available through the Group Life Ministry. Group Life Minister, Stephanie Case, will help find a great group for you!
